The Designers

Luisa de Los Santos-Robinson

The creative director of Detalia Aurora

She is a graduate of both Interior Design and Industrial Design in Manila. She worked as a Senior Design Specialist for the Product Development and Design Center of the Philippines for seven years. She is an active member of Movement 8, a loose alliance of select Filipino designers who, through their unique product lines, are able to define the Filipino design sensibility.

Luisa is an advocate of modernism and clean designs. She puts emphasis on materiality, on the substance in design inherent in a material which leads to a synthesis of form and function. She instils life in her creations with her ingenious use of exotic materials like turnsole, exotic wood veneer, and fossilized stones just to name a few.

Luisa’s approach to design is inspired by nature and technology. The process of integrating natural material with precise technology result in a product line that is recognizably global. Her distinct lines, inspired by organic shapes are pure and simple yet totally unexpected.

Paula Rodriguez

Paula Rodriguez is a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, USA.

Inspired by different fields of design, she has developed an open design aesthetic that is both feminine and contemporary while drawing inspiration from nature and world culture.

Her designs have a concept or a story that always aims to display genuine Filipino craftsmanship and material.

"Each piece carries the skill of craftsmen and the natural material they individually manipulate. The quality and value of Filipino artistry can never be replicated and behind every one of my designs is a cluster of talents that conceived it.”
